Hausu
Peckham Rye's former ticket office pairs a serious kitchen with vintage hi-fi.

Reasons to check it out
- Hausu occupies Peckham Rye station's former ticket office at 11a Station Way.
- Kitchen-counter seats put the cooks in view; a separate upstairs bar extends the evening.
- Toasted-rice ice cream with five-spice caramel earns praise from two independent reviewers.
“One reviewer called the cooking uneven and I kept that in, because a kitchen-counter room built into a train station earns the pin on the room and the dessert alone — readers don't need a unanimous verdict to go.”

Hausu puts a kitchen counter and vintage hi-fi inside Peckham Rye's former ticket office. Dinner comes with a view of the cooks at work; Time Out's review also finds a walk-in bar. An upstairs listening room extends the evening. The station address makes this an easy place to build an evening around.
Save room for the toasted-rice ice cream with five-spice caramel. Time Out praised it, and The Picky Glutton's July 2026 review found it the standout dessert while judging the cooking uneven overall. That reviewer was less taken with the much-discussed prawn toast and preferred the quieter foyer seating. Ask about that room if conversation matters more than watching the kitchen.
Hausu's September announcement, checked on 7 September 2026, says the kitchen will start at 5pm from the following week, with three early-set courses for £30 per person until 6:30pm. Its website still shows the older 6pm weekday opening. Check the booking time directly. The linked sample menu specifies a discretionary 12.5% service charge; confirm that applies to your booking too.
For another Peckham room built around records, look at Jumbi in Copeland Park.
